Dr. Roy Quartermaine, Head of Business Development
Dr. Roy Quartermaine leads the business development activities at Prionics, expanding both the reach and scope of the company’s business operations from its production animal diagnostics base through in- and out-licensing, acquisitions and geographical expansion.
Dr. Quartermaine brings to this position a broad range of international work experience. He began his career with ICI Speciality Chemicals in the UK where he qualified as a professional chemical engineer. He later joined the Dow Chemical Company in Germany before moving to Switzerland. At Dow he transitioned from roles in R&D and Technical Development to Marketing and Sales, with postings in both the USA and Canada. Prior to joining Prionics in 2006, he was the commercial leader within Dow Pharmaceuticals working with venture capital companies to spin-off Dow radiopharmaceutical technology for cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
Dr. Quartermaine holds a B.Sc (Hons.) degree in chemistry from the University of St. Andrews in the UK, as well as a Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Cambridge, UK. In 1999 he earned an MBA from the UK’s Open University.
